The Golden State Warriors finally put a brief pause to their misery with a win. After a 7-game home stretch, the Dubs played their first away game against the Chicago Bulls. And it turned out to be a memorable one. The Warriors not only broke their losing streak but also played amidst the Bulls legends. Importantly, Klay Thompson delivered a special message to them after the game.

The Warriors looked completely in sync with their teammates. Six players from the Bay Area side dropped in double digits, led by Thompson with 30 points. Apart from the Friday night action, the Bulls fans also witnessed a special ceremony involving the iconic 1995-96 team.

The ’96 Bulls led by Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman have a special place in the history books. They set the NBA record for the best regular season record with 72 wins and 10 losses, which were later broken by the Dubs themselves. Honoring the legends of the batch, the management organized a new Ring of Honor celebration at half-time.

Unfortunately, the Big 3 couldn’t attend the ceremony, but they shared a video message with the crowd on the big screen. And following the game, Klay Thompson had a special message for the legends.

During the post-game press conference, one of the reporters asked Thompson about playing in the house of the Bulls’ legends. Klay added, “It was really cool to be in the same building as the 96 team seeing all those guys at halftime was special…that’s a bond we look forward to having it down the line.”

Statistically, the Dubs have already superseded the greatness that the ’96 Bulls team held. In the 2015-16 season, the Warriors broke the record for most wins in a regular season with a 73-9 record.

Apart from averaging around 18 points per game, the star has also been splashing crucial three-pointers regularly. And, after tonight’s 30-point performance, Klay was reminded of his three-point record that he created at United Center. He also mentioned about it in the post-game press conference.

In 2018, he dropped 14 three-pointers against the Bulls and broke the record for most three-pointers in a single game.
