We got the matchup we wanted. Curry vs Harden got even better with both teams stacked with some of the most experienced talent in the league. With Golden State hosting the Clippers at Chase Center, the results were something Dub Nation had been waiting for two years. The Warriors finally beat the James Harden-led Los Angeles Clippers. It was a blowout too for the Clippers to fall 2-1. Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler lead the Warriors to a 98-79 win over the Clippers, putting them at 3-1 this season. We can thank Jimmy Butler for putting that 20-point lead. It’s made Dub Nation online very, very emotional.

Warriors vs Clippers: Game Summary and Key Moments
The Warriors came back to Chase Center after back-to-back games. And despite Steve Kerr’s comments on team fatigue, it didn’t show today. The well-rested Clippers (James Harden even caught the six-hour World Series game between the Dodgers and Blue Jays) had many DNPs, with Bradley Beal notably absent.
After Kerr declared Kuminga’s new role, the Dubs’ starting lineup included Stephen Curry, Kuminga, Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, and Quenten Post. The Clippers had Harden, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kawhi Leonard, Derrick Jones, and Ivica Zubac.
Despite signs of exhaustion, Curry had 19 points (7-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT) with a game-high 8 assists, 2 rebounds, and a piece across 26 minutes. He and Kuminga led the charge yet The Chef struggled at the arc tonight.

But Jimmy Butler carried the team the rest of the way with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. He also made history along the way. In his ninth game as a Dub, Butler reached 16,000 career points, becoming the 22nd active player to reach this milestone.
The Warriors put the first-half struggles behind them to crank up the defense after halftime. By holding the Clippers under 100 points, the experience squad is proving itself as a strong title contender. They maintained a 20+point lead for most of the game and made 17 threes. The Clippers had six.
Harden was the most productive offensive force on the floor for the Clippers. He tallied 20 points, with 13 of those in the first quarter. Zubac had an impressive 13 rebounds, but his 14 points couldn’t overcome the opponent’s high volume of threes.
The Clippers have been beating the Warriors since they acquired James Harden. The last time Curry & Co. beat them was in November 2023. So you can see why Dub Nation is pulling the happy tears GIFs all over social media right now.
Now the Dubs get some well-deserved rest before they take on the Bucks on Thursday. The Clippers also get a day off to regroup before the first group stage game on Friday against the Pelicans.
