The Golden State Warriors hosted a rather thin linup of the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers are playing the second day of a back-to-back set with 10 players on the injury list. The Dubs are also missing Stephen Curry who is missing his third straight game due to an unspecified illness. The Pacers put up a fight and despite the troubles, made a close game in the second and third quarters. Yet they couldn’t make up the deficit and suffered a blowout 114-83. Their losing streak continues as they fall 1-9. That one win was when they beat the Warriors in their first matchup of their season but that team now stands at 6-5.

Warriors vs Pacers: Game summary and key moments
What started as a very uneven matchup – Warriors’ robust veteran starters of Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green against very understaffed Pacers, turned into a plot twist. Golden State took a double digit lead very early into the first quarter and everyone was sure the outcome was going one way. By halftime, the Pacers – who are without Pascal Siakam, Bennedict Mathurin, Obi Toppin, TJ McConnell – had tied the game. Andrew Nembhard, who had been suffering a shoulder injury, came back to make up for the missing firepower.
Ultimately, Indiana couldn’t pull a miracle. The Warriors’ 31-point win is the team’s largest victory in a game without Steph Curry since he entered the NBA in 2009-10. Contrary to Steve Kerr’s promise, he missed his third straight game due to an illness.
This game the reinforcements overruled the injury reports. Taelon Peter, who was previously deemed questionable due to quad soreness, entered the game for six minutes and no points. Al Horford also returned for a surprising 18 minutes and scored 12 points.
Brandin Podziemski remains on a roll with 14 points tonight and aiding Jimmy Butler who scored 21 points. Draymond Green was supposed to make a strong defensive argument against Pascal Siakam (and the Kevin Durant faction) but only amounted for 3 points. It didn’t matter because the Warriors’ entire bench pulled its weight and widened the lead.
The Warriors last beat Indiana at home in 2019, when they were still at Oracle Arena. The Pacers had been beating them since 2024, including the Pacers’ only win earlier this month.
The Dubs are looking forward to Curry’s return to workouts and hopefully be cleared against OKC on Tuesday. The Pacers face the Utah Jazz that same day.
