The Everybody’s Crazy podcast brought out a lot from Savannah in the latest episode, including a glimpse into her past. After admitting how much she enjoyed shooting with her girlfriends Hazel Green, Malaika Frazier, Raven Varona, Porsha Ellis, and, of course, co-host April McDaniel, she revealed something previously unknown. “I would tell my younger self,” the 38-year-old said, “It goes back into myself, not into the world, but open your heart.”
Savannah further emphasized, “I love my kids. I love my husband. I love my family. I love my friends, but wasn’t always in love with myself. So I would tell myself to open your heart. You’re worthy. You’re enough.”

This isn’t Savannah’s first time being candid. Back in the pandemic times, we also saw her open up about her mental health struggles. During her interview with Harper’s Bazaar Savannah shared, “If I’m working from a glass half empty, I’m not good to anybody.” When asked how she filled the void during an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, Mrs. James explained that it was through acknowledgment.
“Sometimes I felt depleted,” Savannah said, “I wasn’t being the best version of a mother of myself to, you know, my husband, it was just hard to be fully present. So, I started to disappear.” She found her escape route in the bathroom, where she would disappear to take long baths or watch makeup videos.
