The Miami Heat emerged as the breakout team in the 2023 NBA postseason with an unstoppable force. Even though the team fell short in the Finals, Jimmy Butler & Co. reached the ultimate series from 8th seed. Notably, the Heat’s first round against the Milwaukee Bucks became the offset of their incredible run. Moreover, LeBron James’ new teammate opened up about the iconic series in a recent interview.

The Heat took on the top-seeding Bucks in the first round of the postseason. While fans expected a cakewalk for Giannis Antetokounmpo & Co., the Butler force delivered the unthinkable and fetched the ‘underdog’ for the remainder of the season. With only Butler and Bam Adebayo laying the foundation for the team, others played a major role in the team’s far-fetched dream.

Apart from Adebayo and Butler, Gabe Vincent played a prominent role in the team’s offense. In fact, he emerged as the third highest scorer in the Finals. However, during the free agency in the offseason, Vincent signed a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers for $33 million. Weeks after the Finals, Vincent opened up about the Butler magic in the first round series against the Bucks.

In the recent podcast episode of The Old Man & the Three, Vincent explained the psyche of the dressing room and Butler’s force while taking on the Bucks. After barely qualifying to the postseason via Play-in Tournament, the Heat had their heads locked in the first round. Vincent described the Bucks’ team as, “Now we got this three-headed monster over there to deal with.”

Moreover, he added how Butler unleashed the beast in him and went up straight against Jrue Holiday despite the team down with 10 points with 5 minutes remaining in the game.

Butler averaged 37.6 points with a shooting percentage of 59.7% and helped to beat the top-seeding Bucks with a 4-1 record.

Now that Vincent moved to the Lakers, will he play a similar role in the LA team?

How will Gabe Vincent fit in with the Lakers?

It took almost two seasons for Vincent to actually make it to the starting lineup of the Heat franchise. Whereas in the case of the Lakers, the team already has an arsenal of extraordinary talents, and the team recently re-signed the promising star, Austin Reaves. It is not clear whether Vincent would be a starting 5 for the Lakers but he surely is an impactful player for the franchise.
