However, what stood out after the game was the passionate conversation between Stephen Curry and the Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson following the buzzer. The 3rd overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft is more than just a competitor for the Warriors superstar.

Ahead of the 2023 off-season, Henderson already had his fair share of limelight because of his NBA G-League performance. Moreover, the Blazers fans were hoping that the rookie would team up with Damian Lillard and resurrect the team to glory. The dream didn’t last long and now Henderson has an extra responsibility in his rookie season without the guidance of experienced leader. Nevertheless, he has dedicated guidance from Steph off the court.

Luckily, in the case of Scoot Henderson, he doesn’t need to worry much, as he is under special care.

The duo formed a bond where Curry would provide advice to the rookie on entrepreneurship, media, basketball, and social impact in the 2023 offseason. Following the alliance, the superstar reflected on the rookie via a press release in May. In the press release, he said, “I have been watching Scoot and his family for a while now, and I am beyond impressed… Our values are deeply aligned when it comes to prioritizing family, hard work and appreciating the blessings in our lives.”

The Warriors took home the win in their second face-off against the Blazers. Similar to the first outing, the second game also went down to the wire. Eventually, the Dubs held their nerve and won the game with a 118-114 scoreline. Henderson came off the bench and scored 14 points in his 22-minute stay. Surprisingly, it was enough for the rookie to beat Steph, as he only scored 7 points in his 31-minute stay.

It was Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins, who did the trick for the Dubs by dropping 28 and 25 points, respectively, Finally the Dubs have their key scorers wake up from their slump.
