The Cleveland Cavaliers took on the unshakable Boston Celtics in the Thursday night encounter. The Celtics are yet to lose a home game this season as they are currently in an 11-0 home run. In the same spirit, the Celtics dominated the Cavs right from the tip-off with a steady lead. On top of it, the visiting team suffered a nasty blow in the form of  Darius Garland injury, seconds into the third quarter.

The Cavs and the Celtics face each other in a back-to-back game at TD Garden. Earlier, the visitors displayed their fighting spirit on the Tuesday night game as well but ended up succumbing to the home team’s dominance. In the fighting attempt, point guard Darius Garland dropped 26 points, supporting Donovan Mitchell for a competitive advantage. However, on tonight’s occasion, the team went without Garland post the intermission after a brutal collision.

Darius Garland impressed the TD Garden crowd with his swift dribbling and shooting skills. While it seemed like that star would take care of the team’s offense, it came to a pause with a brutal collision. The Celtics ended the first half with an 11-point lead and walked into the locker room on a high. While a fierce comeback was anticipated from the Cavs, it all came crashing down, seconds into the third quarter.

Celtics go 12-0 up at home

While we expected the Cavs to crumble after Garland’s exit at the start of the third quarter, they came back even stronger. They started the quarter, trailing 11 points behind the Celtics, and cut down the lead to 3 points in the end. Thanks to Donovan Mitchell & Co. for the sudden outburst at the latter end of the quarter.

However, it was enough for the hungry Celtics in the last quarter, as they restricted the Cavs offense and pitched in crucial points at regular intervals. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown dropped 25 points each, supported by Kristaps Porziņģis with 21 points. With that win, the Celtics cemented a spot at the top of the Eastern Conference points table with an 18-5 record.
