Kyrie Irving, the first to step onto the court tonight, potentially ended the Golden 1 Center game early. The Dallas Mavericks faced the Sacramento Kings, hoping to climb a ladder on their 5-game winning streak. As the Kings posted a heavy first quarter, Kyrie and Luka Doncic spearheaded Dallas’ comeback. However, during their run, Kyrie was seen clinching his right knee, while treading cautiously on the court.

Soon, with staff and Derrick Lively around him, Irving slowly headed toward the locker room. The commentators, from what it seems like, predicted Kyrie’s lower leg/knee to lock up. While much details weren’t made available, Kyrie returned well to the court by the game’s end.

Irving has proven to be the perfect player alongside Luka Doncic. Together, the two have shared the on-court leadership role, floating the Mavs ahead of the Play-in pool.

Additionally, Irving has been a crucial element in Dallas’ 5 game-winning run. Seeing more than 35 minutes of court time, the crafty guard is posting 23.8 points, 6.4 assists, and 5 rebounds. Moreover, he contributes over 47% shooting from the floor, alongside a decreased 30% efficiency from the three-point line.

With that, as Irving stepped away from the ball game, fans crossed their fingers in light of an update. Luckily, Irving was soon cleared to return and lead the Mavericks past a red-hot Sacramento squad.

Kyrie Irving took the game over in 4th quarter

The Mavericks were facing a deficit since the opening minutes of the game. They trailed by 8 to start the second quarter, extending it to 9 at the half. Moreover, as Kyrie left the court, the Mavs, due to Sacramento’s decreased scoring, managed to even the quarter with 22 points each.

There were no signs of his injury scare, as Irving relentlessly attacked the Sacramento defense, all while shooting 100% from the field and garnering 5 trips to the free throw line.

On the other hand, Doncic continued his near triple-double endeavor, scoring 26 points, 12 assists, and 9 rebounds. Dallas handed the Kings their second loss in a back-to-back, winning the game 107-103.
