Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier was arrested early Thursday morning as part of an FBI sports be–ing g–bling probe, sources tell ESPN. The Eastern District of New York and FBI director Kash Patel will hold a press conference at 10 am ET to announce arrests from investigation.

Rozier has been under investigation since January for his alleged role in an illegal sports betting operation. And now, it looks like he has landed in some murky waters that might be difficult to handle, not only for the 31-year-old but also for the franchise.

The investigation into Terry Rozier has reached a boiling point, tracing back to 2023 during his Charlotte Hornets stint. Reports claim Rozier conspired with Jontay Porter to manipulate his game performance, aligning with major betting spikes. Authorities have kept details under wraps. However, tension builds as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York and FBI Director Kash Patel prepare to reveal all arrests in a 10 a.m. press conference.

And interestingly enough, the NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, had once given the 10-year veteran clearance. Releasing him from all the allegations that piled up on his name.

Adam Silver once cleared off all the dirt from Terry Rozier’s name

Terry Rozier’s name has been a part of the ongoing investigation since 2023. But it was truly Jontay Porter who opened the doors for a deeper investigation. He pleaded guilty last season, throwing everyone in the league on notice. Rozier, reportedly, has also dipped his hands into the dark waters of g–bling and illegal be–ing. However, in June, earlier this year, the NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, cleared him of all the wrongdoings.

A professional bettor placed 30 wagers worth $13,579 on Rozier’s unders before a 2023 Hornets vs Pelicans clash, all within 46 minutes in Biloxi, Mississippi. Six sportsbooks across states flagged suspicious activity, with U.S. Integrity tracing irregular bets to Louisiana and Mississippi. Meanwhile, Rozier played only 10 minutes before a foot injury ended his night with 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, below all prop lines, before his 2024 trade to the Miami Heat.

On the other hand, Shams Charania reported that the FBI has also arrested the Portland Trail Blazers head coach. Chauncey Billups took over as the Blazers’ head coach before the 2021-22 season and has since recorded a 117-212 mark. In 2024, he earned basketball’s highest honor with his induction into the Hall of Fame as a player.

The NBA has stepped straight into a storm it can no longer outrun. Terry Rozier’s fall from grace has cracked open a vault the league once sealed tight. With Chauncey Billups’ name now entangled and the FBI circling closer, the truth seems ready to burn through every layer of silence. The season may have just begun, but the league is already drowning in its own chaos.
