A recent game between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado State Rams got off to a controversial start. Early in the quarter, the Rams were leading 14-7. As the play unfolded, Henry Blackburn delivered a late hit to Colorado’s star wide receiver, Travis Hunter. The impact came right after a pass from Shedeur Sanders had sailed over Hunter’s head. 

Amidst the intensity of the game, LeBron James couldn’t help but voice his dissatisfaction with the situation. “Like I don’t understand the difference between targeting and what I just witnessed. I’ve seen others get thrown out for far less. That was blatant and uncalled for IMO!,” he wrote on X (Twitter).

Hunter was shaken up by the hit and had to be taken to the sideline. The play didn’t end there, as the instance saw pushing and shoving among the players. The officials called pass interference on the play and, on top of that, flagged Blackburn for unnecessary roughness.
