The in-season tournament is on full-throttle, with the teams escalating their positions in the group stage. The Philadelphia 76ers are about to take on the Indiana Pacers on November 14th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. However, things are not all well for the franchise, as 2 of their star players might miss out on the in-season game on Tuesday.

Joel Embiid and Kelly Oubre Jr. are facing an injury scare for tomorrow’s game. While Embiid might make it to the game, chances seem low for ‘Tsunami Papi’ this season. But since Nick Nurse is positive that it’s not a ‘season-ending’ injury, can Kelly Oubre Jr. return soon?

Kelly Oubre Jr. ruled out for broken rib

Kelly Oubre Jr., the spectacular small forward, got hit by a car late on Saturday and was ruled out of the regular-season game against the Pacers yesterday. The Philadelphia police threw in a statement regarding the incident, according to which the car under question fled the scene minutes after a concussion with the player. Although ‘Tsunami Papi’ was released from the hospital post-examination for injury concerns, the player is set to miss many games. Adding to the info and stats, the 6’7 will be reevaluated in a week, with the possibility of returning on Tuesday.

In effect, Tyrese Maxey evolved to be a team leader in times of need, sustaining the eight-game winning streak, but chances seem low for Oubre Jr.’s quick return. The initial reporting cited Oubre Jr. as missing a few games; however, he will be a spectator at the team practice. Any information on further consideration of the seriousness of the injury is awaited.

Amidst all this turmoil, Oubre Jr. is resting, trying to recover from the hip and right leg injuries along with the broken rib. Although the team found a suitable replacement in Nic Batum to take on the Pacers, tomorrow night might be dreadful as Batum is out due to personal reasons.

That’s not all for the team, as Embiid adds to their issues with hip soreness.

Joel Embiid under the questionable list

The defending MVP accompanies this blow by being on the “questionable” list for the game. Joel Embiid has again fallen victim to the persisting issue of left-hip soreness and might not play against the Pacers. The starting lineup may take a hit with three important players out of the franchise before taking on the Pacers.

While the team is doomed with the injury curse this season, Nick Nurse might see the silver lining in the clouds. In the last game against the Pacers, Nick Nurse experimented with a rather new star-studded lineup. This compulsion to introduce newbie players to the court will offer the franchise more opportunities to evaluate the players. Nick Nurse was indeed happy with the new wing rotation with Nic Batum, Furkan Korkmaz, and Danuel House.
