Who Are Myles Turner’s Parents?
Myles Turner, 29, was born on March 24, 1996, to David Turner and Mary Turner. Despite their African-American descent and ethnicity, David and Mary Turner are U.S. Nationals who reside in Texas. Myles grew up in the serene town of Bedford, Texas, and showcased a keen interest in basketball from a very young age.

Unlike traditional parents who disregard their children’s interests and pleas as trivial, David and Mary recognized this inclination early on and persuaded him to pursue the sport. What followed was a young Myles starting on the court at just six years old. And he never looked back since.
Miles went on to participate in the AAU basketball tournaments throughout his high school, where he represented Texas. He was quick to proceed to the pros after a one-year stint at the University of Texas. We can only imagine the exceptional gameplay that landed the overall 11th draft pick in the pros! According to Turner, the efforts and teachings of both his parents have significantly shaped him into the person he is today.

Who Is Myles Turner’s Father David? What Does He Do?
David Turner has been an influential figure in Turner’s life and has constantly pushed him towards achieving new heights in his basketball career. David has strongly emphasised physical training since Turner was in high school, and even purchased a BowFlex for him to strength-train after school every day.
As his son’s first coach, David also encouraged Myles to engage in high-octane activities like sit-ups and push-ups, and the father-son duo would actively participate in these exercises before David left for work.
David has been working at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport for nearly thirty years. He started working as a bus driver before getting promoted to the post of Client Servicing Agent. Inside Myles Turner Relationship with His Parents
Family has been an essential part of Turner’s identity, shaping the player and person he has become. The Pacers often credit the Turner’s strong foundation to his parents. In a candid moment with HoopsHype, the athlete said, “My parents raised me to always shake hands, say ‘yes, sir’ and ‘no, sir,’ hold the door open for people, make eye contact when you’re having a conversation—just the little stuff like that. That never got away from me.”
Though David Turner has worked blue-collar jobs over decades, he has never missed any chance to cheer his son on. After long night shifts and gruelling working pressure, his priority was to instill strong work ethic in his son, which still remains the cornerstone of his game. Being driven by his gratitude towards them, the young athlete is set to lead Indiana’s defense to the NBA Finals.
