Kel’el Ware is in the midst of a breakout year in his second season in the NBA. He has slowly gained the trust of Erik Spoelstra with his impact on both ends of the floor. While his second season could eventually become a turning point in his career, his personal life also took a turn for the better earlier this week.

Away from the basketball court in Los Angeles during the All-Star break, Ware marked one of the biggest days of his life. During the Weekend, the Miami Heat center tied the knot to his longtime girlfriend, Nevaeh Koehler, who goes by Nada Bass on her social media. While the Heat star has become a fan favorite in Miami, little is known about his wife. So, let’s find a little more about the love of Ware’s life.

Who is Nada Bass? Everything you should know

Bass is an Indiana native, born and raised in the small town of New Carlisle. She spent most of her life in Indiana and attended New Prairie High School. She later attended Indiana University, Bloomington, and studied Human Resource Management.

She has previously worked as a barista, a cashier and a retail sales associate. Bass is currently working part-time at Kroger as a florist. Bass has kept her family life very private, and not much is known about it.

Indiana University holds a special place in the lives of the Miami Heat star and his wife, where they met. Ware and Bass started dating during the same year Ware had a breakout year before declaring himself for the draft. In 30 games for the Indiana Hoosiers, Ware averaged 15.9 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.

It was a substantial spike from his previous year at Oregon, where he largely remained a bench player, averaging just 6.6 points despite showing his knack for defense.

Bass came into his life at a time when his life took a big turn. So when the time was right, the NBA star didn’t hesitate to take the next step in their relationship. On August 18, 2024, shortly after being drafted 15th overall by the Heat in the 2024 NBA draft, Ware proposed to Bass in Egypt with the pyramids of Giza.

In an all-white setting, Ware proposed Bass, who looked stunning in her white dress, surrounded by white pillar candles and a floral arrangement. A year later, Ware again visited Egypt and converted to Islam.

Since then, she has been with him to public events. She was one of the members when the Heat hosted the National Basketball Wives Association (NBWA). She also accompanied Ware to the Miami Heat Gala earlier this month, celebrating the team’s first NBA Championship in 2006. It’s safe to say Bass knows everything about her husband, including that his name is inspired by Superman. Well, perhaps not everything. She said that, privately, Kel’el has claimed that he is 7’1″.

When and where did they marry?

Kel’el Ware and Nada Bass got engaged on Sunday, Feb. 15. In a series of pictures released by Mair Films, the happy couple showed off their wedding ring. While the Heat star wore a black outfit, Bass looked stunning in a silver gown. The wedding cake featured a Quranic verse that read, “And We created you in pairs.”
