Who is Mike Breen’s wife, Rosanne? How did they meet?

The leading lady in Mike Breen’s life is Rosanne Breen. And their how-they-met story? It’s actually got that sweet, almost movie-like New York charm. So, it’s the 1980s. Mike, a young, hungry broadcaster, is honing his craft calling games for his alma mater, Fordham University, on the legendary WFUV radio. The story goes that Mike met Rosanne during this time. They got married way back in 1989, which means they’ve celebrated an incredible 35 years together as of 2024. That’s a lifetime in any world.

However, every story has both good times and bad times. In 2022, Mike and Rosanne’s story took a dangerous turn. Everything they’d built, every photo, every keepsake, every memory-laced corner of their Long Island home—went up in flames cause of a fire.

Mike and Rosanne were away in Napa when they got the call. “You’re in a state of shock… there’s nothing left,” Mike said, still stunned. Their son Matt was meant to be home that day, but Mike had insisted—really insisted—that he take their dog to the beach house instead. “He fought me over it for a week,” Mike said. That argument may have saved both their lives. The fire took everything, including a signed Kobe jersey that read, “From one Mamba to another.” But what came next, Mike calls a “blessing.” Over 500 people reached out. Rosanne even somehow managed to have that jersey restored.

What does Rosanne Breen do for a living?

While Mike Breen is out there giving us chills with his calls of iconic NBA moments, Rosanne Breen has been making her own significant moves in the business world. According to the information available, she’s held the impressive title of Vice President at Breen & Breen, Inc. since way back in 1998. That’s over a quarter-century in a high-level role, which tells you she’s got some serious career game herself.

And it’s really no surprise when you look at her background. Rosanne isn’t just a supportive spouse, she’s got the academic credentials to back up her business savvy. She reportedly earned her undergraduate degree in, get this, Mathematics from Villanova University back in 1985 – the same year, by the way, that Villanova had that legendary upset over Georgetown to win the NCAA men’s basketball championship! So, she was surrounded by big sports moments even then.

How many kids does Mike Breen have?

Mike and Rosanne are proud parents to three children: two sons, Michael and Matthew, and a daughter, Nicole. You can just imagine the kind of household they grew up in – probably a lot of sports on TV, a lot of passionate discussions about the game (all narrated by one of the best to ever do it!).

And it seems that love for the game, or at least for the sports world, might just run in the family. Their daughter, Nicole, has reportedly followed a path that keeps her close to the hardwood. Yes, she has made herself career within the National Basketball Association itself. She’s said to have held a variety of interesting roles under the league’s Youth Development Program. How cool is that?

Mike has often spoken, albeit briefly, because he’s a pretty private guy, about how crucial his family’s support has been throughout his incredibly demanding career. Being the lead voice for the NBA Finals, year after year, means an insane amount of travel.
