The US sporting world witnessed the end of an era. Skip Bayless, the 72-year-old veteran, has officially ended his 9-year stint at Fox Sports 1 and has entered free agency. While there isn’t clarity on Bayless’ future, there’s another big question to be answered. Who will fill the huge void in FS1? It certainly isn’t an easy task to fill the veteran’s shoes. However, the latest report listed three names who can replace the legend with Nick Wright leading the race.

A few days ago, several reports revealed that Skip Bayless would end his stint with Fox Sports 1 this year end and expected him to re-sign with ESPN. While ESPN ruled out that option with a statement, Bayless didn’t wait for the end of the year. After Friday’s episode, he took to his X handle and wrote, “Today was my last show on Undisputed. I’m leaving FS1.”

With his sudden exit, Bayless has put FS1 in an emergency. Nevertheless, a First Office Sports report has come up with a list of replacements through their sources. Firstly, the report hinted that the network could cancel ‘Undisputed’, the show that Bayless hosted. The celebrated sports debate show directly locked horns against Stephen A. Smith’s ‘First Take’. So, it’s a reasonable choice not to deploy a less experienced personality against A. Smith.

Nevertheless, the network seemed to have found its replacement, as the report hailed Nick Wright as “the future of the network”. After a promising stint, speaking sports on radio, Wright began his broadcasting stint with Fox in 2016. Since then, he has come up the ranks and eventually became the potential replacement for Bayless.

Moreover, the 39-year-old dropped hints of picking up the dropped mantle with his latest X post, where he praised the veteran. He wrote, “A truly legendary run. Very few people, in any industry, can say they helped create & define an entire genre. Skip did that. Salute & good luck in whatever he does moving forward.”

Who are the other two replacements for Skip Bayless?

The First Office Sports dropped an unusual suspect for the replacement. While it’s unfair to call him a replacement for Bayless, he sure has the potential to grow into one. It is Danny Parkins, Chicago Radio host. Recently, Parkins filled in for Colin Cowherds for F1’s The Herd show. Following the show, he said, “It was a bucket-list thing. I mean, (Herd) is one of the best sports radio hosts in the history of the medium. The show is a massive operation. Their crew is great. By far, the biggest platform that I’ve ever fronted. It was really, really cool.”

Cowherd, addressing Parkins’ efforts, lauded him as the most talented” host in the recent time. Moreover, the other replacement is none other than Colin Cowherd himself. A source described Cowherd as “the thing holding that entire network together” and even compared him to Stephen A. Smith.

Nevertheless, anyone out of these three could end up becoming the next face of FS1. Meanwhile, Bayless should look for a new job. Amid the rumors of his retirement, he clarified it via his X post where he wrote, “I’ve been planning to pursue other opportunities for several months. I had a great 8-year run with a lot of great people at FOX, but now I’m excited for what’s coming up. Stay tuned.” Where do you think Skip Bayless will end up? Let us know in the comments.
