Why Stephen Curry Could Possibly Miss Tonight’s Game Against Rockets? Debunking the Severity of Warriors Star’s Injury

The Golden State Warriors are set to take on the Houston Rockets in a few hours. Both teams stand in the opposite projections. While the Warriors are expected to be one of the title contenders, even a playoff berth can be a huge deal for the freshly put-up Rockets. The difference in personnel is apparent. However, this season, the Rockets management has aimed to form a winning roster around its young guys. And they can be a tricky puzzle for any squad.

In this wake, the Warriors announced that their ace scorer, Stephen Curry, was questionable for the game. Has the Guard picked up a serious injury or has the status changed?

Is Stephen Curry battling with a long-term injury?

He was on fire during his last appearance. Thanks to his 41-point explosion, the Warriors defeated the Kings 122:114.

However, after this stellar showing, the Guard was applying an ice pack to his left foot. Perhaps he had strained a part of the foot after carrying the bulk of the scoring load. Historically, Curry has had issues with his ankles. Therefore, the foot concern hasn’t been prominent. But given his “probable” designation for the game against the Rockets, it seems this is a minor blip on the injury radar. Therefore, there is an eighty-twenty chance that he will participate in the game.

It also means that his availability for future games may not be incumbent upon this foot issue. This implies that this is not a serious injury. To avoid this injury’s aggravation, Steve Kerr may apply cautious maneuvers. Rockets Guard Dillon Brooks is one of the most physical defenders.

Therefore, the Guard will need to apply additional pressure on the foot. However, such physicality is the tale of the season. At any rate, at this moment, this seems like a minor issue for now.

How many games should we expect him to play this season?

Curry is a grit-and-grind example

During his early career, ankle issues led him to think about early retirement. However, he managed to turn around the situation. The Warriors hired Keke Lyles as the strength coach in 2013. He identified the situation with the ankle and developed a training plan. This plan aimed to solidify his hip and core muscles so that his ankles don’t take much pressure. From there on, he managed to appear in most games and developed a body that can soak a ton of pressure.

He played 56 games last season and since 2018-19; he hasn’t played more than 65 games. Therefore, his name on the injury list is common. It is essential to manage these concerns and prepare him for the much more tenuous postseason window.
