Eight Years Ago, Swift and Kobe Bryant shared the stage

Back in 2015, the singer had stopped at Staples Center of Los Angeles for her 1989 LA Tour. Staples Center was Bryant and Los Angeles Lakers home court. Upon introduction during the concert, he drew loud cheers in his home territory. He declared that “Me being up here means I am the coolest dad to my kids”. Apart from that, he pointed to a special connection.

By 2015, the country musician has sold out 16 shows in Staples Center, which is a record. During that time, the Lakers were also standing at 16 championships. Pointing this out, Bryant said, “Sixteen is a very special number here in Los Angeles because 16 is the same amount of championships that we have as a Lakers franchise”.

Then he had a warm gesture for Swift akin to a jersey retirement and a title banner. While unveiling a banner, he said, “To celebrate those championships, we do something very special. We hang banners. That’s what we do.”

The banner read “Most Sold Out Performances” with Swift’s name on it”.
