The journey of the New York Liberty star wasn’t easy. She started off witnessing her twin brother’s games regularly in her childhood, expecting a chance to play with them. Instead, she was asked to play with dolls. Fast forward to now, she competed against the all-time 3-point scoring champion Stephen Curry in front of the world.
She came into the event as the record holder for most points scored in a three-points contest across leagues. She dropped 37 points in the final round and won the WNBA 3-point contest in 2023. Meanwhile, the NBA record was set by Stephen Curry with 31 points.

Stephen Curry takes home crown
Sabrina Ionescu, before going up to her mark, said, “Hopefully, this isn’t the last time we do this.” The WNBA star shot with a WNBA ball which is a touch smaller compared to the NBA ball. But it doesn’t make much of a difference, since it’s all about shooting. The 26-year-old almost got the better of the Baby-faced Assassin.
