The two icons known for their bonhomie came together to debate and deliver a moral lesson on parenting. Raising kids is especially tough when the parents are superstars, they argued, and that pressure and attention are transferred to the young ones as well. One of them being Stephen Curry realizes the cost of being a celebrity whose children share his spotlight.

Calling it a “double edged sword”, the twosome acknowledged that teaching children the right morals and values takes a lot of time for parents.

Stephen Curry Discussed Parenting with Barack Obama

In 2020, Stephen Curry and Barack Obama sat down for a conversation when parenting came up as a topic. Barack Obama said, “Just by virtue of them being your kids, they are in the limelight in some ways. And you know Michelle and I understood kind of early on, that’s a double edged sword. We wanted them to have a normal experience of growing up and being able to make mistakes and not being scrutinized and commented on every single thing. Suddenly we’re living like normal middle class folks and the next thing you know there are butlers.

The former President continued by saying, “We had to tell the staff at White House that the girls have to clean their rooms.” To which Steph interjected and said, “principles and discipline”.

The Former President also credited his mother-in-law for keeping his kids in check. He said, “It helped also to have my mother-in-law. She is like salt on the Earth, no pretension. Wouldn’t put up with any kind of attitudes and fuss out of Sasha and Malia and that really helped.”

Stephen Curry’s life off the Court

Stephen Curry is married to a successful chef and entrepreneur, Ayesha Curry. Together they have three children, two daughters named Riley (11) and Ryan (8), and one son named Canon (5).

The Currys are known for their close-knit bond, often sharing moments on social media. Their commitment to their children’s upbringing and support for one another’s careers is evident.

Steph and Ayesha have also been involved with various charitable trusts and philanthropic work. They founded “Nothing But Nets,” a campaign aimed at combating malaria by providing bed nets. Additionally, they support education through “Nothing But Threes.” They’ve also contributed to COVID-19 relief efforts.
