“Behind every successful man is a woman”. For LeBron James, that belief does not just extend to his wife, but also to his 10-year-old daughter, Zhuri. In the 4x NBA champion’s own words, “She runs everything, so what Z says goes”. Despite being young, Zhuri creates a positive environment around her father, through activities that vary from cruising in a sports car to having a go at the workout equipment. With LeBron James’s current injury placing restrictions on him, he might once again turn to his activity partner to come up with something fun.
LeBron and Steve Nash discussed physical activities in the recent episode of Mind the Game. When discussing days when neither feels like engaging in a workout, LeBron revealed that he usually gets into a sauna. He chose that activity because not being able to work out or sweat has become quite “abnormal” to him now. Furthermore, it is something that he and Zhuri can do together. When Steve Nash asked whether LeBron also gets in the pool, the King denied it. However, it is something that he might just pick up to have another fun activity to share with his daughter.
“You know what? I don’t spend much time in the pool. But it’s something I think I should. But it’s definitely great for (you). I mean, it takes all the pressure off of you. It unloads all the, you know, all the joints and things of that nature,” said LeBron. “So, you know, my daughter is a big pool girl. So, that’s definitely is a reason for me to get in it and mess around with her”.

The only indication we had earlier about Zhuri James liking the pool was through the family photoshoot she did for Vanity Fair back in October 2022. However, from what LeBron described, she certainly likes to swim. We already know what the 10-year-old is like on the volleyball court through her high-school team photos that she posts time to time.

Zhuri’s interest in swimming will certainly draw in her father. Especially now, when he has to make do with the physical activities that are immediately available to him. Back in early May, the King was later diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain.
The recovery time for an injury like that is typically 3-5 weeks. So James isn’t going out to the basketball court to practice. He can’t engage in that rigorous game-day routine, which involves everything from cold tubs to solo shootarounds. Nor could he cycle, which is something the 40-year-old has previously discussed being quite fond of.
However, the pool is just a few feet away from his bedroom, in the confines of the 13,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion the player purchased back in 2020 for $36.8 million. Therefore, what is stopping him? Even if LeBron chooses not to swim, he is still looking to make the best of his recuperation time.

LeBron James to join Zhuri as her league team travels through California
During the previous episode of the podcast, LeBron James revealed his plan to travel to several cities throughout California. All so that he could be at the right place at the right time when Zhuri James’s volleyball team went through their busy itinerary this summer.
“I’ll be in a lot of gyms this summer as she’s with her travel league team out in California,” LeBron told Steve Nash. “They go all over — they’ve been to Reno, Nevada, they’re going to Las Vegas, they play all over California. I’ll spend a lot of time with her and then take some vacation time with the family, some of the time you lose when you’re in the eight-, nine-month season.”

Zhuri would certainly love for her father to be present to cheer her on. That is, if he does not publicly ‘embarrass’ her. Fans might still remember how, back in October 2023, LeBron James highlighted himself visiting one of Zhuri’s volleyball games at her school. One clip showed him cheering her on by shouting “Let’s go Munchkins” out loud. This led to Zhuri jokingly giving her father a side-eye and a look that may have spelled “embarrassed”. A perfectly normal reaction by someone who was just ousted for being referred to as her father’s “munchkins”.

For someone who has dominated their own sport for more than 2 decades, it might not be the easiest thing to watch as a spectator. Then again, not everyone is a star-in-the-making like Zhuri James, for whom LeBron will always cheer on.
