The Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young had been trailing Oscar Robertson for some time. He finally caught up with the veteran. When it came to scoring double-doubles, Young has been at the forefront of the offense for the Hawks. With a hawk-like vision, he has been able to assist. Young played for 36 minutes and scored 30 points, 14 assists, and 4 rebounds. He also had one steal in his kitty. His shooting too was impressive. His shooting scored 10/18 from the field and 5/8 beyond the arc. He averages 28.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 11.1 assists in 25 games.
Young was mindful of his career trajectory. When he scored 113 such performance in January 2023, he had expressed satisfaction that he was coming into the category of the greats. Young had said, “That means I’m doing something right if I’m in the category with him, a legend, a Hall of Famer, means I’m doing something right. He is ahead of Tiny Archibald, Micheal Jordan, and Rusell Westbrook. He is currently tied with Oscar Robertson in the second place. In his next encounters, the young star will be looking to set and break more records.
