San Francisco is living the sports dream. At first, it was the San Francisco 49ers who sealed a ticket to the Super Bowl, their first since 2020. Then they got a fiesta tonight. The Golden State Warriors ran down the Philadelphia 76ers at home. Even with Joel Embiid back, Stephen Curry and Co were hitting all the notes today.

They limited Embiid to just 14, his lowest mark this season. A lot of credit should go to Draymond Green. The Warriors forward did a tremendous job defending someone many consider the best player on the planet. He kept Embiid contained which allowed the Warriors to launch a late-game offense the Sixers simply couldn’t handle.

After the game, Green, who was elated at the result, was questioned about the upcoming Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs might not appreciate his words.

Draymond Green stands beside Brock Purdy and the 49ers

After a splendid night of basketball, Green put on the headset and came to answer some questions. The most burning question had to be who was he siding with for the Super Bowl. Or actually, that was known. Instead, he was asked about his predictions for the ultimate game. Green, jumping into the mind of a football pundit stood up for fellow San Francisco athlete – Brock Purdy.

The elusive quarterback has faced the heat of the NFL media over the past few years. Now, after once again leading them to the Super Bowl, Draymond Green had to remind the world who he was.

“I think it’s going to be a great game. You talking two great teams. There’s been a lot of Brock Purdy slander over the last couple of years. But you know, the way he showed up in that second half of the Conference Championship game. I saw something that Stephen A said ‘If Brock Purdy shows up in the Super Bowl, that’s it no more question to Brock Purdy. And I know better than that,” said Green.

Green acknowledged the 49ers have come close numerous times over the past few years. He even mentioned Purdy’s unfortunate injury last season that potentially hampered the side from beating the Philadelphia Eagles. However, it’s no surprise his allegiance rests with the 49ers and Purdy.

Draymond Green is supporting his home. No matter how indomitable the Chiefs are with Mahomes-Kelce’s connection, the former DPOY is tied with the 49ers in what he describes as “the biggest event of the year”.
