Per Sports Media Watch, the 2022-23 NBA regular season averaged 1.59 million viewers across ABC, ESPN, and TNT. League has massively benefited from the popularity of LeBron James over the course of the last two decades. But even LeBron isn’t immune from criticism and hate from fans and analysts alike.

But hate has never bothered LeBron. He just keeps his head down and works on his craft. LeBron’s attitude has seemed to inspire AS Roma superstar Romelu Lukaku, as he looks to emulate King James’ mentality.

LeBron Inspires Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku has been one of the premier strikers in world football, but the last few seasons have been rough on him. Lukaku burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old boy for Belgium club Anderlecht. Lukaku has enjoyed a stellar career up until now, playing for clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter, and Everton.

Recently, Lukaku has been plying his trade for Italian giants, AS Roma. But, Lukaku has come under serious criticism in recent months because of his poor performance in the 2023 Champions League Finals. He also generated ire from Inter Ultras (die-hard fans) after it was reported that he had agreed on a deal in principle to join Inter’s rival, Juventus. After heavy criticism, Lukaku looks to take inspiration from LeBron James.

In a recent interview with Daily Mail, Lukaku talked about adopting LeBron’s elite mindset. He said, “I just want to make an example of NBA player LeBron James, even though I’m not like LeBron”.

He added further, “Bam, bam, bam — that one took a lot of criticism but handled it unflinchingly. I want to adopt that mentality”.
