As the 2024-25 regular season nears its opening night, teams look forward to their pre-season games. Usually, teams play 5-6 games during the pre-season with each team required to play at least four. Nevertheless, the Los Angeles Lakers will gear up for their own set of pre-season contests starting October 4th. LeBron James and company look forward to a better regular season after coming off an early first-round exit, this past postseason.

This year, the Lakers are set to play six pre-season games, starting with hosting the Timberwolves. Now, the Lakers will host the first two games at Acrisure Arena in Greater Palm Springs, also known as Coachella Valley. Following the game against the Wolves on October 4th, the men in purple and gold will host the Suns on October 6th. The franchise will reminisce the past as this very place used to be the Lakers’ training camp back in the day.

Nevertheless, the Lakers will play the Milwaukee Bucks following their time in the Coachella Valley on October 10th. Following this, the squad will face the Dubs in Las Vegas’s T-Mobile Arena on October 15th and in Chase Center on October 18th. However, the Lakers will also play the Suns for the second time in the middle of these dates, on October 17th at Footprint Center in Phoenix.

This two-week pre-season will end in Vegas, as the Lakers will take on the Timberwolves at home on October 22nd. But before all the action comes Media Day. And this year, the Lakers will participate in their Media Day on September 20th. On the other hand, the Celtics and the Nuggets will talk about their season prep on September 26th. It will be an interesting start to the regular season as we head toward the preseason games.

The Los Angeles Lakers have the most nationally televised games

In this upcoming season, the Lakers will have a total of 39 nationally televised regular season games. The Warriors come second on the list with 36 such games. Well, considering James teamed up with his son, there is no doubt that fans will not miss watching the father-son duo in action. Not only that, but the fan-favorite head coach, JJ Redick, will also be drawing up the plays from the sidelines. The Lakers will definitely sell a lot of tickets this season.

But then again, the franchise is looking to get back on its feet. The men in purple and gold haven’t had much success in the past few seasons. However, this very season might just be LA’s redemption arc as they look forward to making a statement. It will be interesting to watch the Lakers in action starting October 22nd.
