Over the last few days, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been making waves in the NBA world. Ahead of Team USA’s opening game at the FIBA World Cup 2023, Edwards impressed the hoops community during exhibition games. Moreover, fans drew similarities between the rising star and Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. The Wolves star went on a scoring spree in the last five international exhibition games ahead of the WC opener and topped the scoring board on four out of five occasions.

The star’s athleticism and dunking ability left the internet amazed. Apart from fans, he has also been receiving praise from NBA legends such as Gilbert Arenas. and the similarity with MJ also left NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal impressed. In the ’90s, Michael Jordan mesmerized the NBA world with his mastery. MJ’s floaters and fade away jumpers were widely admired. While fans felt it was almost impossible to find another Air Jordan, Anthony Edwards‘ recent highlight reels made them change their minds. MJ stans found Antman and Jordan as spitting images of each other in a recent IG post.

House of Highlights dropped a comparison video clip of both stars in an Instagram post. The video has a compilation of side-by-side comparisons of various special moves by MJ and Ant. The moves include dunks, fade away shooters, three pointers and lay-ups.

Moreover, just hours after the video was posted, Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal took to his Instagram story and shared the same. The video clip also carries text that reads, “Anthony Edwards x MJ Comparison is Kinda Scary.”

The 22-year-old star has only completed three seasons in the league, and he has already been compared to MJ. Importantly, he recently signed a 5-year contract with the Wolves worth up to $260 million dollars.

Apart from voicing his support for him, he also called him the Kobe Bryant of the current USA roster.
