The Minnesota Timberwolves have managed to secure a crucial 2-1 lead over the Golden State Warriors. Stephen Curry has been absent for two games now because of a left hamstring strain. This has left the Warriors vulnerable and bleeding. Without Curry at the helm, the Warriors could not even get a single 3-point past Minnesota’s defense in the first half of Game 3.

Not to say that the Wolves have not been brilliant. Julius Randle was the star of Game 3. He had 30 points-worth of assists on the night, and his partnership with Rudy Gobert proved too much for the Warriors’ defence. But what won them the game was not momentary highlights. Rather, the constant push the Wolves got from Randle, something even Coach Finch touched upon.

“It’s really what turned our season around was his playmaking”, Coach Chris Finch on Randle. Julius managed 24 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds, recording a triple-double in the playoffs. After Kevin Garnett, he became the second player to do so in Wolves history. The player has had his injury troubles of late, which has led to constant concern for the fans.

Fortunately the Wolves seem to be at their full strength, ready to take on Game 4. According to the injury report, as released by the Wolves, Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert both have no injuries and will suit up for the Conference Semifinals, Game 4.

With even Dillingham being back, the team will look to continue making the most of the Chef’s absence.

Can the Warriors figure out a way past Julius Randle?

With no injuries and full enthusiasm, Julius Randle is set to play basketball like the court belongs to him. He has managed to bulldoze through the Warriors’ defense regularly thus far. With no foreseeable return of Steph Curry until Game 6, Coach Steve Kerr needs to come up with solutions quickly.

With the series delicately poised, it may as well become more of a waiting game for the Warriors. They need Stephen Curry back, and must survive until their talisman can shrug off his hamstring injury. If that has to happen by game 6, the Warriors still have three to go.

Minnesota and ANT, however, will already be sniffing blood.
