After a few minutes, LeBron had an opportunity to level things with his counterpart. Giannis received a pass right in front of James and tried to post up. James inflicted a turnover with a steal from him when the whole bench got excited.

LeBron James & Giannis Antetokounpo praise the new format of the NBA All-Star game

Owing to the new format, the teams were left chasing a score of 157 to win the game. The changed format actually brought some competitiveness that the All-Star games over the years cried for.

Many players including the two captains, Joel Embiid among others talked in favour of the new format.
