The San Francisco 49ers began their NFL playoff journey in dominant style with a 41-23 thrashing of the Seattle Seahawks. The rookie sensation, Brock Purdy, played a pivotal role in the win. In his first playoff start, the 23-year-old put up a historic performance. In doing so, he caught the attention of one of the biggest stars in the NBA, LeBron James.

Purdy took the center stage opportunity with both his hands. He hit on target on 18 off his 31 throws. In addition, Purdy didn’t have a single interception. He threw for 332 yards with three TDs. According to NBC Sports, he became the first rookie in the Super Bowl era to throw and run for a touchdown in a playoff debut. It was arguably a performance for the ages as Purdy rallied San Francisco over the Seahawks.

After his exceptional display against Seattle, Purdy became a hero in the media. With reporters swarming him, one broke out the news that got the 23-year-old smiling teeth to teeth. The reporter told the rising QB about the acknowledgment from one of his idols, LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers forward tweeted, “Purdy Got Game!!”
