Young suggested the Lakers ship Westbrook out of town in a three-way deal. He proposed the Lakers trade for Buddy Hield, an elite guard of the Indiana Pacers, by giving away Westbrook and first-round picks. Young also wants them to acquire the veteran guard from Houston, Eric Gordon.

Russell Westbrook underperformed last season and many fans and analysts blamed Westbrook for the Laker’s struggles. The Lakers actively tried to trade Westbrook, but failed to find any suitors who would take him. Thus the former MVP started on the roster in the season opener. Westbrook remains a Laker until further developments.
