LaMelo Ball has been a revelation since joining the NBA. The number three overall pick has been playing incredibly, as he has led the Hornets to a fantastic season so far. The young rookie guard has been the best player for the Hornets and is making waves in the Rookie of the Year race. One former Hornets player is very impressed by the way he plays.

Curry has high praise for LaMelo Ball

Former Hornets guard Dell Curry spoke to Rex Chapman for an interview recently. He had a lot of kind words for LaMelo Ball. Despite Ball being young, he plays like a veteran. He is always looking to help his teammates and set them up for an easy basket or a good opportunity. He further praised LaMelo’s accountability and mental toughness.

“He plays bigger than he is, he’s 6’7. He plays like a veteran already. His teammates LOVE playing with him. He always has a smile on his face. He’s always thinking of the next play. He’s not afraid to say, ‘I made a mistake, that’s on me.’ He’s a different breed.”

LaMelo Ball has been very impressive since arriving in the NBA. Before entering the NBA, there were several doubts about him. The Timberwolves and the Warriors passed on him, allowing Michael Jordan and the Charlotte Hornets to pick him up. Since then, LaMelo has been showing the Hornets exactly why they made the right choice in selecting him when they did.

LaMelo playing amazing basketball

For the season, LaMelo Ball has been averaging excellent numbers. He is currently averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Ball is easily the Rookie of the Year favorite right now, with no other rookie playing at the level that he is. It would take something colossal from Ball for him to lose his advantage for the accolade.

Can LaMelo Ball lead the franchise to the playoffs? The Hornets are having the best season they have had in years. They are currently in the top frame of the Eastern Conference. But there is a lot of competition among teams to secure one of the top-six seeds. If LaMelo continues to play the way he does, the Hornets will have a really have a chance.
