“He plays bigger than he is, he’s 6’7. He plays like a veteran already. His teammates LOVE playing with him. He always has a smile on his face. He’s always thinking of the next play. He’s not afraid to say, ‘I made a mistake, that’s on me.’ He’s a different breed.”

LaMelo Ball has been very impressive since arriving in the NBA. Before entering the NBA, there were several doubts about him. The Timberwolves and the Warriors passed on him, allowing Michael Jordan and the Charlotte Hornets to pick him up. Since then, LaMelo has been showing the Hornets exactly why they made the right choice in selecting him when they did.

For the season, LaMelo Ball has been averaging excellent numbers. He is currently averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Ball is easily the Rookie of the Year favorite right now, with no other rookie playing at the level that he is. It would take something colossal from Ball for him to lose his advantage for the accolade.
