2023 #1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama is already the center of all the attraction even before his first NBA game. Earlier this week, the French wonder kid was on his way to have dinner while in Las Vegas. The San Antonio Spurs star has been in Vegas along with the other draft picks ahead of the NBA’s Summer League. The evening took a massive turn as Wembanyama’s security apparently manhandled $60 million worth singer, Britney Spears!

Following this huge controversy, numerous eminent voices, including Wembanyama himself, have spoken out. Sam Asghari, Spears’ husband, finally opens up about the situation on social media. Unlike many, who are bashing the 19-year-old, Asghari took a huge stand for the Wemby.

Britney Spears’ husband speaks out on the Victor Wembanyama incident

A lot has happened since the Britney Spears incident. The pop singer released a fiery message talking about the ‘traumatic’ controversy, which has the NBA world shattered. Hours after this incident, Spears’ husband, Sam Asghari, gave a whole new insight into the situation.

Taking to Instagram, he writes a long paragraph scrutinizing the security team. However, he was quite supportive of Wembanyama as Asghari feels he is in no way responsible for what ensued.

Asghari writes, “The violent behavior of an out-of-control security guard should not cast a shadow on the accomplishment of a great young man on the rise @wemby. The blame should fall on the coward who did this, the people who hired him without proper vetting, and a systemic culture of disregard for women within sports and entertainment”.

He also hopes for a change in the system, which will start from the top. Asghari even writes he’s looking forward to the changes.

Wemby speaks out on the incident

With many fan reactions coming in on social media, Victor speaks about his own view of the incident.?

According to the San Antonio Spurs star, he had no idea the fan was Britney Spears. In fact, he had orders to not engage with fans from his security.

“At first, I was like, ‘You’re joking,’ but yeah, it turns out it was Britney Spears. I never saw her face. I just kept walking straight”, said Wembanyama to a reporter after his practice session. He also revealed that Spears grabbed him from behind, contrary to the singer’s claims of just tapping his shoulder.

Following this major fiasco, Spears demands a public apology. However, Wembanyama and the Spurs are yet to revert to her apology claims.
