The Golden State Warriors fanbase hailed 24-year-old Jordan Poole as the rightful heir to Stephen Curry for quite some time. Well, that was before he was traded away to the Washington Wizards following a dismal outing during the 2023 NBA playoffs. This deal saw the Warriors sign veteran point guard Chris Paul from the Phoenix Suns.

Hours after a teary farewell from Dub Nation and Curry, Poole recently received a special welcome to his new team and home. It was from the most powerful woman in the United States of America.

Vice Prez welcomes newest Washington star

The Washington Wizards have a new star in town after the departures of Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis. It is none other than 2022 NBA champion Jordan Poole.

It seems even Vice President Kamala Harris is excited to see him sport the Wizards jersey, which was once worn by the great Michael Jordan. After all, she took the effort to welcome Poole to Washington D.C. on Twitter.

“#DubNation will miss you, Jordan, but welcome to Washington, D.C”, wrote Kamala Harris, along with a selfie of them taken during the Warriors’ White House visit following an incredible title win.

Following the official announcement, Poole has been revealed in his new colors. Moreover, he has already had a practice session on the Wizards’ training court. And Curry had something to say about all this.

Stephen Curry had some special words for the youngster

There were some rumors which suggested that Curry, and Poole might have some bad blood between each other. All of those claims were laid to rest when the four-time NBA champion bid tearful adieu.

Curry talked about how Poole grew as a player in front of everyone in the Warriors camp. Although he had a rough couple of years after being drafted as the 28th overall pick in the 2019 draft, Poole bounced back. He was an essential component of the title-winning 2022 Warriors team.

“Can’t wait to see you blossom, big fellow. Can’t wait to see you shine. Good luck to you”, said Curry. Interestingly, he also had a welcome message for Chris Paul. Despite their history of on-court skirmishes, it seems the two guards have turned a new leaf.
