We are talking about the trade of Jordan Poole.

The Warriors traded Jordan Poole to acquire the Wizards’ Chris Paul in an exchange deal in June this year. This came not so long after Draymond Green punched Poole during their team practice in July 2022. However, the owners and the players seemed to be on Green’s side, possibly affecting the team more than anticipated.

The 24-year-old helped the Warriors win the 2022 NBA Championship. But with the player’s exit, the team’s performance has gone downhill.

The Golden State Warriors are struggling

The performance of the Warriors has been quite underwhelming this season. The team’s star player, Steph Curry, is under tremendous pressure. Most recently, the player dropped 30+ points in the loss against Minnesota on Sunday. Klay Thompson is at his worst numbers since his rookie season averaging 16.1 points per game. Wiggins’ is also not doing any good averaging, 10.5 points per game, his lowest yet. Even the one for whom Poole was traded has yet to give a good performance. Draymond is giving his best performance since 2017-18 but that’s not enough.

None of the players in the Warriors are averaging more than 20 points other than Curry. He is the only player to average 30.7 points per game this season. The Warriors have lost three matches in a row and have a tough road ahead of them. With the Warriors struggling to give a good performance, one may wonder if things would have been different if the team hadn’t traded Poole.
