It’s very hard to impress Michael Jordan. His Airness is a serial winner and is considered by many to be the greatest. But Jordan once admitted that he is a fan of a boxing legend. And the legend’s unique trait left him baffled. For years, Jordan has been known to be a killer on the court. He is out to dominate his opponents and he showed no mercy to anyone. He had this will to compete against anybody and conquer them with his game. Many say that this is a huge part of his game and one of the main reasons he went undefeated in the Finals.

And whenever Michael Jordan sees that trait in other players, he instantly recognizes it. That is why he was so close to Kobe Bryant and he was like a mentor to him. He even identifies those unique traits in other athletes as well. And that included boxing legend Roy Jones Jr.

Back in 2004, Jordan, Roy Jones Jr, Serena Williams, and other star athletes did a show together with Ahmad Rashad. They talked about the challenges of their sports, dealing with fame, and lots of other things.

Michael Jordan said that Roy Jones Jr was out to kill his opponents in the ring

During the sit-down, Michael Jordan talked about how he sees other stars and learns from them. He said, ” I’m a fan of all sports, I watch these guys, I’m a big fan.”

MJ added, “Now when I watch them on TV, I can almost know what they are thinking because I’ve heard the similarities of our personalities, the way we prepare ourselves for battle. Except for Roy, I know he’s out to kill whoever is in that ring.”

Jones is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time and he is one of the few to compete in multiple classes. He became the first boxer to win a heavyweight title while starting out as a middleweight. He was also the undisputed light heavyweight champion. And he had an impressive record of 66-9.

Jones was a champion and Jordan understood that he was out to win and destroy his opponents. Similar to what he did back in the day, which made him one of the greatest athletes of all time.
