Even since the start of the season, the future of Damian Lillard has been in question. Especially after the Portland Trail Blazers traded away his partner in crime, CJ McCollum away. But now there appears to be some huge news regarding Lillard’s as well the Trailblazer’s future.
Senior NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski reported that two billionaires, Nike founder Phil Knight and Los Angeles Dodgers part-owner Alan Smolinisky, have come together to make an offer to buy the franchise. They have reportedly made a bid in excess of $2 billion and have provided the owners a written offer as well.

This news will come as a huge boost for the fans of Trailblazers who were thinking that they will lose their superstar next season. The prospective owners have reiterated their desire to keep the team in Portland and boost the current team as well.
Damian Lillard could end up staying with the TrailBlazers
The Commissioner of the NBA, Adam Silver, seemed to confirm the news about the bid in his annual press conference at the Finals. Silver stated that according to the terms of the trust in Portland, the team has to be sold at one point.

Ever since Lillard was drafted into the NBA, he has stayed with one franchise. And despite repeated disappointments, he has not left the team and stayed loyal to them. The Blazers have also appreciated this and given Lillard a large contract.

But they seem to have gone into a rebuilding mode. Speculation has been rife that Lillard will eventually leave Portland in search of a championship.
But now with news coming in that there may be new owners, the fans are excited about it and the prospect of Lillard staying. Dame has stated he loves it in Portland and has stated that he wants to stay here.
