The Los Angeles Lakers had an eventful week witnessing the superstar LeBron James surpass the all-time scoring record and multiple trade deals. Even though the Lakers surprised the NBA world by trading Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley, the LA side retained their core team members. Anthony Davis and James have always been considered one of the best duos in the league. Moreover, a recent Lakers addition came up with a fresh nickname for the duo leaving the fans in shock.
A lot of injuries and performance issues have hampered the Lakers this season. The team is currently the 13th seed of the Western Conference with a struggling 26-31 record. The iconic duo didn’t play enough matches together due to injuries. Moreover, the recent trade deals have had a promising effect on the fans.

A cool name for LeBron James – Anthony Davis
The new Laker entrant Mo Bamba came up with a new nickname for the legendary duo, reported Jovan Buha, The Athletic journalist. Buha tweeted, “Mo Bamba said he calls LeBron James and Anthony Davis ‘Three 6 Mafia.’ He said having those two guys in the locker room fast-tracks continuity and chemistry.” Bamba played six seasons for the Orlando Magic since his rookie season averaging 7.7 points in 266 games before his trade to the Lakers.
Following the tweet, the fans swarmed the comments section, approving the new nickname. Notably, Mamba could have derived the name from the famous hip-hop band Three 6 Mafia. One user said, “Damn we had 2 years and never thought of something this cool.” Following are some reactions from NBA Twitter.

Legendary rapper rips apart the duo
The legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg has been an ardent Lakers fan, and once he took a sly dig at the duo via social media. He made a harsh comment on an Instagram post that called AD and James the best duo in the NBA. He wrote, “I’m loosing faith a. D. Need to get his body tight like Lebron. I’m tired of seeing him on bench in street clothes.”
