The Los Angeles Lakers have had a terrible start to the season. They have started the season on four straight losses and have looked like a lottery team for the most part. Lakers fans and well-wishers have urged to rebuild the team and surround LeBron James with shooters. Even a western conference executive has urged the Lakers to make a move for two young stars.
The Lakers have been the league’s worst shooting team so far. In fact, they have started off the season by being the worst shooting team in NBA history. They have been really good on the defensive end and are among the league leaders at that end of the floor.

But their troubles have been on the other side of the court. They have just not been able to knock down shots consistently, and they have missed many wide-open shots. LeBron James even admitted that their team does not consist of great shooters. And teams know that.
Executive asks the Los Angeles Lakers to go for two young stars
Many have advised the Lakers to trade Westbrook and a few picks to get more shooters. But the front office is waiting to see how the season pans out before making any decisions. However, a Western conference executive thinks that the Lakers should be thinking of the road ahead.

Russell Westbrook will be a free agent next year and the Lakers will be able to sign another max player. However, this executive thinks they need to do something different. He said, ” They should be smart and go for multiple players. Role players, guys like Strus, or bringing back Josh Hart and maybe going for Gary Trent if he opts out in Toronto. Strus will be a bargain next year, even though he’s been good in Miami, he will be undervalued.”

The Lakers will surely look to strengthen their squad before going deep into the season. They will try to surround LeBron James with the best talent possible. However, if they continue to stumble, they will need to look to make moves quickly. Otherwise, they will have a very hard time getting back into the playoff picture.
