The Knicks have fired on all cylinders recently after galloping through the ranks. Before meeting Doncic, the Knicks had won eight of their last 12 games. However, possibly not in the franchises’ wildest dreams did they see the turnaround that the Mavs would bring. The scenes were almost out of a dream with Doncic making a successful play off his own intentionally missed free throw. Luka Doncic became the first Mavericks player ever to score 60 points in a game. Likewise, the three-time All-Star had emptied all his reserves. Furthermore, Doncic makes a hilarious admission in his post-game interview.

Luka Doncic deserves everything he asks for after history-making feat vs Knicks

For the second time in three games, Doncic surpassed the 50-point mark. Moreover, on both those nights, the Mavs would need every point that Doncic would score. In the 126-121 overtime win over the Knicks, ‘Luka Magic’ went off to create a 60-20-10 statline for the first time in NBA history. Notably, he also shot over 50% from the field while making 16 of his free throws.

After the game, he said, “I’m tired as hell. I need a recovery beer.”

The Mavericks’ offense seems stacked up with Doncic surrounded by reliable shot-makers and offense-creators like Christain Wood and Spencer Dinwiddie. However, as far as the other side of the floor goes, Mark Cuban and the front office arguably have to urgently find the right man to support the team.
