New York Knicks star Cam Reddish got injured while defending Stephen Curry in their recent matchup. The Knicks played against the Golden State Warriors on November 18, 2022. Halfway through the game, Reddish had to walk out of the court due to a groin injury. After the game, the Knicks star said in an interview that he sustained the injury while trying to keep up with the Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.
The Warriors defeated the New York Knicks by 111-101 in the game. This brought up the Warriors’ record to 7-9 and the Knicks’ to 8-8. The game was an unfortunate one for Knicks star Cam Reddish as he had to leave during the third quarter of the game. Later it was reported that the 23-year-old Knicks guard might not be able to play the team’s next game against the Phoenix Suns. Reddish claimed that defending Steph was the main reason behind his groin injury.

“It was fun, It was competing against the greatest ever, to be honest. It was fun. Tough, too. He’s non-stop moving. That’s probably why my groin is hurting. But I enjoy the competition,” said Reddish in a post-game interview.

Interestingly enough, Reddish slid a sly remark on Stephen Curry’s greatness while commenting on his injury. While the GOAT debate is a perpetual discussion in the NBA world, calling Curry the GOAT ahead of MJ, LeBron and Kobe is surely to invite some disagreements.
Incidentally, Reddish sustained a torn groin when he was playing for the Duke university basketball team in 2019. He had to go through surgery at the time. However, the 23-year-old assured that the recent injury was not too severe.

If Reddish is deemed unfit to take part in the team’s Sunday night game, then fellow Knicks star Quentin Grimes will have to step into Reddish’s shoes during the game against the Suns. The Knicks’ head coach Tom Thibodeau stated that he is positive that Grimes will be ready to get on the court on Sunday.
