Being a celebrity has its own perks. And when you are the co-founder of a multi-billion dollar company, you know you are an essential figure. According to CBS, an old used pair of Birkenstock sandals was sold for a whopping $218,750. The sandals belonged to none other than Steve Jobs. Over a decade after Jobs passed away, his sandals were put up for auction, and the price was estimated to go up to $80,000. However, the final amount significantly surpassed the estimated cost. The reason is that the sandals were worn by Jobs back in the 1970s and 80s when he found Apple. According to Margot Fraser, who brought Birkenstocks to the US, Jobs was fascinated by the brand.

Fraser said that Jobs?“was interested in where the form comes from. He wanted to know everything about the materials and he was also interested in the technical side.”
