NBA superstar Stephen Curry is one of the best players ever and is the best shooter ever. His ability to consistently hit the 3-pointer has made him one of the hardest to guard. Furthermore, he could make the shot far beyond the 3-point line as well. Many basketball analysts feel that Curry is one of the main reasons for the current evolution of basketball, which involves lots of attempts beyond the arc.

The eye disease of Stephen Curry

When everything is going as well as it could for the superstar, lightning strike again. This time in the form of eye disease. Curry is one of the most efficient 3-pointer shooters if not the best. But his 3P% fell way below his usual best in the 2018-19 season. For someone with a career average of 42.8% from the 3-point line, he was only hitting 37.8% that month.

So, Curry, had himself checked for anything unusual. Turns out, he was having an eye disease. He was suffering from a rare condition known as Keratoconus. In this disease, the cornea thins over time and changes from its natural circular shape to one similar to a cone. And this resulted in blurry vision, which caused him to miss a lot of shots. Talking about this issue, Curry said, “It?s a tough situation every day waking up.”
