$400 Million Rich Shaquille O’Neal Reveals How Defeating Michael Jordan in 90s, Helps Him Make Money Till Today

Back in the 90s, the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan were unstoppable. There wasn’t an answer for them as they won six titles in that decade alone. However, there was one time a team with Jordan was beaten in the playoffs. And it was a young team of Orlando Magic with Penny Hardaway and Shaquille O’Neal. And Shaq brags about it to date and he wins money every time.

After Jordan won three titles, he retired in 1993 and tried his hand in baseball. A couple of years later, he decided to come back to the league. This was midway through the season when he returned, but he was still the Jordan of old. He helped the Bulls make the playoffs and made the first round easily.

But the Magic were formidable and they beat the Bulls.

The Magic were a star-studded team with Shaq and Penny. When they matched up against the Bulls, they took them to the task. Jordan was maybe at his peak, but he did not have the full season to prepare and this cost them.

Shaq says, “When we beat Jordan and the Bulls in the second round. Nobody in the Eastern Conference accomplished that in the ’90s.”

Shaq says this is the most memorable moment of his time with the Magic. And he says he wins money of that. He adds,” I win money all the time now, especially with the young guys, when I ask them who was the last team to beat the Bulls. They forget.” This is a nice scheme Shaq has going on for himself.

The Magic would go on to Finals and would end up getting swept. But this was the last time any team beat Jordan. In the next three years, the Bulls won three straight titles. They even set an NBA record for most wins in the regular season.

Shaq would eventually leave the Magic and go to the Los Angeles Lakers. There, he won three titles with Kobe Bryant and add another title with the Miami Heat later in his career. And he still is part of the team, which was the last to beat Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
