$400 Million Rich Shaquille O’Neal Used Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Playboy to Add Big Bucks to His Massive Net Worth – Here’s How

As an NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal accomplished many things throughout his career, and winning four championships wasn’t the only thing he did. This man has won many titles on his way to becoming one of the greatest players in NBA history, from the NBA Most Valuable Player to SEC Player of the Year.

After retiring from the NBA in 2011, he moved on to other endeavors. However, he did not stop there. He started investing his time in the business world as well. As a result of his NBA career, he earned $300 million, which he invested in his business and grew into an empire.

As per reports, the retired NBA player earned $25 million to $30 million a year. Getting endorsements from The General, Gold Bond, Icy Hot, and Buick isn’t the only thing he accomplished. As a businessman, he built his own empire.

The NBA star appeared on a podcast called “Earn Your Leisure” with financial advisor Rashad Bilal and educator Troy Millings back in 2021. An interview in which he discussed his financial profile and ideas. As part of the interview, O’Neal discussed how he added big bucks to his huge net worth by using Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and Playboy.

When discussing how he was able to increase his business empire, he talked about ideas and how to make a good investment. “I don’t like to seem like I’m bragging, but I’m going to ask you a question. Who owns Marilyn Monroe?” he asked the two hosts. “Playboy,” Millings answered. “Who owns Elvis Presley? Who owns Forever 21?” Shaq continued. “Who owns JCPenney? Me!”

“My real business is I own 50 brands,” according to Shaq, “So, when I was retiring, I’m looking around, I’m like ‘How does Michael Jackson and all these guys live forever?’ So, one of the chapters in the book, joint venture-ship.”
