Three-time dunk champion Nate Robinson went down memory lane to remember his epic duel with Irving.

In a league where short players struggle, Robinson made an 11-year career. Moreover, the 5’9″ star could jump out of the arena. And it was a time when Kyrie Irving established himself as one of the most skilled players of his size.

The Nike Pro City Summer League saw an offensive blood bath that day. The game went into overtime with Irving’s team coming out on the top. In the NBA showdown, a veteran Robinson put up 44 points. However, his effort was shadowed by a Kyrie Irving masterclass. The 7-time All-Star went off for 47 points in the overtime thriller. Nine years later, Robinson gave Irving a shoutout for the battle.

While the dunk master retired in 2015, Irving is living in his prime. But he is caught in a tricky spot. His teammate Kevin Durant is reportedly getting ready to pack his bags for a move away from Brooklyn. This has left Irving alone. Already having accepted to opt-in and stay with the Brooklyn Nets, KAI likely needs to have a redemption season, with or without KD.
