Most basketball players are over six feet tall as that is the average preferred height in the NBA. But that does not mean that there have never been any NBA players under six feet. The shortest player to ever play in the league was former Hornets player Muggsy Bogues, whose height was just five feet three inches. Whereas, the tallest player recorded in the history of the league was Suleiman Ali Nashnush who stood tall at a staggering height of eight feet.

There are many others who can be included in the long list of tallest and shortest NBA players. But very few among those players would be a familiar face to even those who are not a fan of basketball or the NBA. However, it can be safely said that one of those players would be Shaquille O’Neal. The former Los Angeles Lakers legend, if not the tallest, has a towering height of seven feet.

If rumors are to be believed, O’Neal had reached the height of six feet four inch by the age of 10 and touched seven feet at the age of 14. The Big Aristotle sure does live up to his name. Standing next to someone that tall even if you are over six feet tall, would probably make you look tiny. And a resurfaced photo of O’Neal with Captain America himself proves just that.

Shaquille O’Neal towers over Captain America himself

In a photo posted by a fan on Instagram shows Shaquille O’Neal posing alongside Hollywood actor Chris Evans, widely known across the world as Captain America. Since marvel fans have already seen him alongside the Incredible Hulk, it probably won’t come of as much of a surprise.

Nevertheless, it still serves as an eye-opener to how tall Shaq really is. Fans are so used to seeing him on-court with his teammates that he often seems only a tad taller than everyone. But it sometimes slips out of the mind of fans that the average NBA player is actually significantly taller than the average human being.
