NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is a father of six. Some of his children are following his footsteps and pursuing the game of basketball. Shareef O’Neal played college basketball and currently plays for the G League side Ignite. Shaqir O’Neal plays college basketball for Texas Southern. Next in line is Me’arah, who is a talented high school star. A video of a 13-year-old Me’arah dunking a basketball recently went viral. To put things in perspective, even Shaq did not dunk until he was in high school.

In the recent episode of the ‘Big Podcast with Shaq,’ O’Neal and his co-hosts Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams discussed a variety of hot topics. During the show, the four-time champion revealed details about the college offers his daughter has been receiving.

NFL legend Deion Sanders joining Colorado was a major topic of discussion during the latest podcast. Shaquille O’Neal and the crew discussed it in detail. Shaq stated he messaged Sanders and congratulated him. NFL veteran Spice Adams said the top recruits who joined Jackson State for Sanders are in a tough position because of his move to Colorado. Then Nischelle Turner asked Shaq whether he has talked to his children about the possibility of something similar happening and what to expect during their college careers.

Shaq replied that he talked to his children about this but added he always lets them figure it out. The proud father then revealed Me’arah has been receiving college offers. He said, “I didn’t get letters when I was 13, 14. Babygirls already starting to get letters. So she’s already starting to get to it.”

The former MVP added that he does not put everything on a platter for his children. He noted they know they can always come to him for advice whenever required.
Turner then asked whether Shaq would be mad if a coach recruits Me’arah and then moves to a different school. The Los Angeles Lakers legend disclosed something that something similar had already happened with Shareef. He stated Shareef was recruited to UCLA by head coach Steve Alford who was later fired. Shaq added the next head coach did not give his son a chance.

Me’arah O’Neal, a “cheat code”
Listed at 6’4, Me’arah O’Neal is a four-star recruit. She plays high school basketball for Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California. She started dunking when she was just 13 and a video of her dunking went viral. Her brother Shaqir dubbed her as a “cheat code.”
