

Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game of basketball. The legendary center was a force of nature during his playing days. He used his overwhelming physical advantage over his opponents to score at will. Along with his ability on the basketball court, he also has a great personality. This led to him becoming a fan favorite on every team he would go to. Shaq also has a heart of gold and always helps out people and the community in his free time.

Shaq is also a family man and loves his family. He has four children, namely Shareef, Amirah, Shaqir, and Me’arah, with his first wife. He also has a daughter named Taahirah O’Neal from a previous relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh. Shaq has supported his children in every way and helps them in playing basketball too.

Shaq and his advice to his kids
But when you learn from an all-time great, sometimes there will be some speed bumps. In an old video, we can see Shaq doing just that to Shareef and his other kids. During basketball practice, Shaq talked to them in a huddle and gave his advice to the kids. He said, “This is the time you get better…All that I have been teaching you all since when you were little…Just because you out there doing cool moves don’t get cool on your shot Steph Curry ain’t cool on his shot.”
He further said, “Leave it up there like I taught you….listen to James and listen to what we telling you all to do….don’t be doing all that cool stuff because it ain’t gonna work…..when you shoot your shot leave it up there till the ball hit the floor. Next person to make a mistake will have to run a lap. I am here now. Alright.”

Shaq and the previous era of the NBA
Shaq played in an era where players didn’t take as many three-pointers as they did now. Mid-range jumpers dominated the game and centers worked from the low post area.
Shaq was a prototype center of that era. He was unstoppable in the low post area and could easily get to the basket at his will.
