The Lakers took the most controversial trade crown away from the Brooklyn Nets and landed it on their heads. With their new acquisition of Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards, the organization is sending a bold message that they are planning on making a big comeback. In fact, their entire offseason has been filled with some solid moves.

But will it be as good on the court as it is on paper? This is a question on every fan’s mind, especially when it comes to Westbrook’s fit next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Jalen Green thinks that there is no way this won’t work, and he has his reasons to believe so.
Why Russell Westbrook won’t have trouble fitting in with the Lakers
On ESPN’s Jalen & Jacoby, the two hosts discussed the topic that has been making rounds ever since Westbrook joined the Lakers. Will he or will he not fit well with the purple and gold? Jalen stated, “You know how much I love Russ. You fit in anywhere when you average a triple-double for a season. And that’s what he did last year.”
Then Jalen explained how Westbrook’s idol, Nipsey Hussle, would be incredibly proud to see him on the Lakers. Jalen recalled that when Hussle had passed away, Westbrook scored 20 points, 21 assists, and 20 rebounds in a game against the purple and gold. In fact, he even dedicated that win to Hussle.

“Russ is just a sign of maturity, Jacoby,” continued Jalen. “He’s been an MVP of the league early in his career, he’s played in the NBA Finals, and played with some of the best players in the game. Harden, KD, Paul George, Bradley Beal, and now LeBron James and Anthony Davis. So, he’s been a chameleon in a lot of ways and this comes in full circle.”

Can this ‘Big Three’ live up to expectations?
Some, like Jalen, think that this blockbuster move on the Lakers‘ part can turn their fate around in the West for the better. However, some also think that adding so many superstars could be a recipe for disaster.

Of course, this is all conjecture until we see them move from the paper to the court. The Lakers have a lot of proving to do in the upcoming season because of their disappointing early exit in the playoffs last time.
