Following this, helping the community around him became the purpose of his life. O’Neal went out of his way to help people. This meant even paying for the funerals of those he barely knew.

Inspired by Jeffery Bezos, O’Neal invests in ventures that help the community grow. He does this with love. When something is done in pursuit of love, he believes that not only will people respect you but you will also leave a beautiful legacy behind. O’Neal feels that this also leads to monetary rewards. His 400 million dollar net worth is used for the greater good. In an interview, recently, O’Neal spoke about how he wanted to be remembered. He said, “I want them to say,  ‘hey, I was having problems paying my college tuition and Shaq took care of it. hey, a kid was accidentally shot in his neighborhood and Shaq paid for the funeral for the family.” 

A kid accidentally shot himself and O’Neal paid for the funeral. The kid’s mother was highly appreciative and grateful for O’Neal’s actions. For O’Neal it was simple. He just wanted to do something that would help a family who was going through the darkest of times. Previously, O’Neal had also paid for the funeral of a young girl in North Carolina.

O’Neal’s philanthropy knows no bounds. There is so much that he does behind the scenes. The community is slowly benefitting and for O’Neal, this is what matters.
