Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden has faced some heat during his playing days with the Brooklyn Nets. The 10-time All-Star has an arguably amazing stepback jumper and knows how to finish plays whilst getting fouled. Harden was brought to the Brooklyn Nets to team up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to make a run for the championship. But that move did not work out. 

After several complications surrounding the squad and Harden and co. not being able to deliver for the team when needed, he was subsequently traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers got James Harden and Paul Millsap and the Nets got Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round draft picks in return.

Harden has been trolled by fans on social media for his gameplay style and also his weight. But the transformation he underwent this off-season has fans in shambles around the league. While talking to the media, Harden mentioned that he had lost 100 pounds over the summer.

When asked how he accomplished this feat, Harden said, “by proper diet and rest”. And when pictures of Harden’s transformation surfaced on the internet, fans gave their reactions to the new look James Harden.

With Harden losing weight to stay healthy, fans and critics can’t help but wonder if Harden’s game will return to the way it was during his Houston Rocket days. Though the trio of James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving failed to make a huge splash in the league, fans are excited to see him play alongside Joel Embiid.

Embiid is arguably someone who does not need the ball in his hands to generate offense. He is a great post presence, can spot up from the midrange, and knock down open threes if left unguarded. Seeing Harden’s gameplay, he likely needs the ball in his hands to contribute to the offense. So fans and media both are hopeful that these two players will be able to work their magic in Philly next season. 

James Harden ended the season with 22.0 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 10.3 APG with the Nets last season.
